Rochester, NY: Saturday, November 19, 2005, at the age of 81. (A native of Topeka, KS & seaman to many-ports-of-call). Hal is predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Nellie Siebert, aunt and step-mother Lela Siebert, and brother "Billy". He is survived by his son, Jefferson T. (Martine) Siebert and step-son Paul (Kari) Bowers and their children, and stepdaughter Pamela Bowers and her son, his devoted cousin Thelma Jean Rickhoff (CA) and his dear friends Milt and Nancy Danko and Lou and Kay Reali; many friends and professional associates. Hal was a WWII vet in the U.S. Merchant Marines, a Naval officer and commercial shipping engineer for many years, voyaging to 28 countries. He was a graduate of Kings Point U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Class of 1945) and R.I.T. (MBA). While at the Academy, his Midships yearbook stated: " 'The Brain'; this genius, H.J. Siebert, proceeded to rewrite the course of instructions in thermo-dynamics. It is a belief of the section that Mr. Siebert's course will be adopted by the Academy as the basis of instruction for future Cadet- Midshipmen." Hal was adjunct professor and forever a student of higher education, pioneer studies, and alternative medicine. Hal retired from Xerox as a quality-control engineer. In latter years, his entrepreneurial spirit was dedicated in agri-science and the water and plastic industries. As an essayist, he was awarded `First Prize' in Greyhound's "A Trip to Remember" Contest 2002. Hal also served as a Board member of the Rochester Area Vegetarian Society (RAVS).
