Clarkson: Age 87 years, passed away peacefully July 26, 2015. Stanley was predeceased by his wife Frances; parents, Stanislaw and Wladyslawa Pogroszewski; sister, Genevieve Wroblewski and nephew Glenn Cardinal. He is survived by his companion Joan Allen; children, Patricia (Stanley) Galinski of Clarkson, Donna (Maureen Viel) Pogroszewski of Clarkson, Stanley (Dean Beals) Pogroszewski of NYC, Nadine Pogroszewksi of Charleston, SC and Alan (Jennifer) Pogroszewski of Clarkson; 11 grandchildren, Joseph (Tara) Merino of Hilton, Eileen (Mark) Thrall of Spencerport, Robert (Jill) Galinski of Rochester, Heather (Shane) Camman of Clarkson, Amber (Kendall) Chapman of San Diego, CA, Meagan and Anna Stockman of Charleston, SC, Ephram, Frances, Noah and Josef Pogroszewski of Clarkson; 11 great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sofia, Ashley, Paul, Roman, Audrey, Ryan, Bridget, Olivia, Margaret, and Quinn; goddaughter Christine Cardinal; brothers-in-law, Joseph Doherty and Richard Dumont; sister-in-law, Lucille Doherty; several nieces and nephews.
Stanley graduated from Cornell University in 1950 with a degree in Economics and enjoyed his occupation as a farmer as well as in the field of finance (Lincoln First Bank, Agway and Telmark Leasing). Stanley served as Clarkson Town Justice for 33 years. After retirement he volunteered at Lakeside Memorial Hospital for 25 years. He is a current member of U.S. Magistrates Association, Knights of Columbus-Spencerport, Lions Club-Brockport, Elks Club-Bradenton, FL., Pi Kappa Phi – Cornell University and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church – Hamlin. In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, his interests included golfing, stamp collecting and gardening.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Ave., Hilton and are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Spencerport: On July 24, 2015, at home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 82. Walt is survived by Dee, his wife of 55 years; his children, Walter F. (Karen) Przybycien, Jr., & Wendy Przybycien Woodley; grandchildren, George J. Fishell Jr., Nicholas Walter Woodley & Danielle Regina Woodley; great-granddaughter, Madilyn Josephine Woodley; brothers & sisters, Mary Frederes, Sally (Ralph) Hamaker, John (Pat) Przybycien & Florence Przybycien. He is predeceased by his parents, John & Sally Przybycien; and brother, Edward Przybycien. Walt was the owner of Manitou Sand & Gravel Co. Walt was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and good friend to many.

Silver Spring MD: Betty Vary died peacefully on Monday, July 13th, 2015, at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Willette “Bill” Vary in 1997, her parents Thearl and Altheada Hiscock DeLano, and her two younger sisters, Altheada “Tead” DeLano Weeks and Margaret “Peg” DeLano Glenn. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Vary Schwandes of Silver Spring MD and son Tom (Mary) Vary of Hilton NY; her 3 grandchildren – Paula Posas (Walter “Rob”) Fitz-William, Shaytu and Hasan (Amy) Schwandes; her 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Betty was born on 17 April 1916 in Rochester NY. Betty graduated from Brockport Normal School in 1936, and the College in 1948 (BA) and 1957 (MA); taught at Seneca and Iroquois Schools in West Irondequoit; then became the first female administrator in the Hilton Central School district and later the first principal of Northwood School, which she helped design. Betty was highly esteemed in the field of education and a 60-year member of the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International (DKG). She also served as President of the Brockport Alumni Association (‘65-‘67), and was a member of the Hall of Heritage and Circle of Presidents. Betty and Bill married on 23 August 1941, were members of the Bahá’í Faith since the early 70’s and retired to Florida in ’71. In 2013, Betty and daughter Joanne moved to Maryland to be closer to family. Betty leaves behind a proud legacy of contribution, kindness, and encouragement of family members, students, staff, and colleagues to reach their potential and go after their dreams. Her loving reminder, “Be alert! Be safe! Be happy!” will echo long through the years.
Family and friends are invited to attend Betty’s Gratitude Memorial Service at the Quest Elementary School, 225 West Ave., Hilton, New York 14468 on Saturday, August 8th at 10:30 AM. Prior private burial was at Parma Union Cemetery, Hilton, with Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
