He is survived by his parents, Gary and Susan Putnam; his brother, Michael Putnam; sister, Deanna Putnam; maternal grandparents, Bob and Betty Hannel; loving companion, Kassia Threlkeld; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Vina Putnam. Dan was a 1993 graduate of Hilton High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from University of Buffalo, 2006.

He was a member of Barnard Fire Dept. Exempts and a Kodak retiree. During 63 years of marriage Charles and Thelma enjoyed ice skating, square dancing and caring for others.
