Obituary of Joyce Elaine Brothers

Joyce Elaine Brothers passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip U. Brothers, Jr. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Glenn) Johnson, Diane (Larry Snyder) Brothers, Craig (Sally) Brothers, and Sandra (William) VanPutte; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Young; and her nieces and nephews.

 Joyce loved people and people loved her.  She was full of wisdom, and she shared freely with anyone who gravitated to her. She was lovingly referred to as the ‘Chief Operating Officer’ of the family and her ‘mommyisms’ are relative, even today.

Joyce enjoyed her summers at Conesus Lake and every other season at their home in Jupiter, FL. She was a lifelong volunteer at The Park Ridge Hospital gift shop and the American Cancer Society. Joyce loved a party. Phil and Joyce were a handsome and well-dressed couple, and their picture was occasionally on the society pages after a fundraising gala in FL. 

She will be greatly missed by her friends and leaves a void in the lives of her loving family. 

A Memorial Mass will be held for Joyce in the summer at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3010 Chili Avenue in Rochester. Please check back on this website for updates.
